Mike and Tonda......Led by no Man, Loved by Bully's and Owned by our Lord Jesus!!
I got my first English Bulldog 40 years ago as a small child, I will never forget the day my Papa brought her home to us kids. It was complete love and adoration for 12 short years. One of my many memories of Bandy was walking her down to the local Dairy Queen and then having to carry her back, because she felt she'd had enough exercize for one day, after all, she had a figure to keep up!! Or her chasing the old rooster and sounding him off like a mother hen for getting out of line. Bandy never got to be a mother due to her many health issues, she was really a mess due to being poorly bred, however she helped nurture and raise many kittens that she doted on as if they were her own babies. I will never forget my faithful friend and vowed to someday have another. After our children were grown, my husband and I bought 2 and today many years later, we have a house full of the funniest Bullies anyone could ask for. Though none could replace Bandy, they all share a special place in our hearts.
So this is where we part, My Friend,
and you'll run on, around the bend,
gone from sight, but not from mind,
new pleasures there you'll surely find.
I will go on, I'll find the strength,
life measures quality, not its length.
One long embrace before you leave,
share one last look, before I grieve.
There are others, that much is true,
but they be they, and they aren't you.
And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought,
will remember well all you've taught.
Your place I'll hold, you will be missed,
the fur I stroked, the nose I kissed.
And as you journey to your final rest,
take with you this...I loved you best.
